|Betsy adopted Cato at six weeks of age from a neighbor. He was the only boy out of the litter, but Betsy thinks Cato would have been the dominant cat no matter how many males would have been there.|
|To give Cato some feline companionship, she adopted Isis from a local shelter in March 2001.|
| Betsy gradually introduced the two over the next month. Cato wasn't happy at first, but he now seems to enjoy the fact he is no longer alone.
Cato sometimes tries to show Isis he's the boss of the house, but even though she is both younger and smaller, Isis won't back down.
